Orbis Online

Orbis Online
4. Early Town, Livetuna

After going through the character creation, Reus— his character's name in the world of Orbis Online— opened his eyes and found himself in a room containing several people. He saw a green ball hovering above the heads of the men.

‘Oh, so that's what the player's cursor calls?’

Reus raised his head and saw a green ball floating on top of his crown. He smiled little realizing that he had successfully entered his new world—Orbis Online.

“Hp... HP... HP... Ah, here it is.”

When he started looking for something in question, Reus found a red bar right in the middle of his sight. HP stands for Hit Point which is a life parameter that every player has. When the HP bar runs out to zero, the player dies.

Dead players will be subject to a penalty that is to lose some of the exp, sometimes some items are brought down as a random drop item, sometimes, and it takes some about half an hour to re-start the game from the last city visited. Charged with a penalty of this magnitude, of course, makes the players do not want to die at any cost. Losing experience and the time of the next awakening is not too heavy, but if the valuable items he brought fall into the drop items will be very frustrating for players.

“HP already... hm, it looks like SP is not in this game.”

Reus looked a little disappointed not to find the SP in question. In RPG—Role play game—SP stands for skill point used as energy to activate or use the skills possessed by the player. The shape is usually the same as HP bars, but the color varies. Can be blue, yellow, orange, green, and some other colors.

Where did Reus know this? Of course from the RPG game he had played. Although he is a poor student, Reus often plays RPG games on his phone. His economic troubles were not a hindrance to him downloading free games on the line.

“Oh, it looks like this bar called Energy is a replacement for SP.”

Under the red bar HP there is a purple bar in the middle that says ‘Energy’. Reus then sat cross-legged on the floor and pulled out the help panel by saying [Command Voice : Help]. He read them one by one carefully to understand the features in Orbis Online.

After about 20 minutes, he finally finished reading the help panel. Since this is the first time he has entered the full-dive Virtual-Reality world, he must understand how the systems and laws of this world work. By understanding the concept, you will be easier to choose a variety of options in Orbis Online.

Reus got up and did a little stretching.

“Alright, I think I should go to the gun shop or something.”

He opened his status and looked at it as well as researched it.

‘I understand, really like an RPG game. Well, its name is also VRMMORPG—development of RPG.’

VRMMORPG is a genre of this Orbis Online game prolonged Virtual-Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role Play Game. As the name suggests, VRMMORPG is an RPG game that uses a full-dive Virtual-Reality system that requires players to connect to an internet connection and log into the server to play it. However, the system is exactly like RPG games in general.

‘H... Respect that point for my influence to the NPCs and Byl here is the currency. My level is also still zero, then my class..?

According to the help panel, classes can be obtained at class registration places in several cities, one of which is the early city, Livetuna—the city where Reus is currently standing. Unfortunately, the class registration places in the early city only provided a few lower-level classes such as Swordman, Warrior, Mage, Enchanter, Knight, Guardian, Assassin, Thief, Priest, Cleric, and a few others.

In Orbis Online, the player class is divided into three levels, Bronze-Class, Silver-Class, and Gold-Class. The Bronze-Class is the lowest and most widely encountered class. This class is a basic class that must be chosen by novice players so that the level can rise. Online Orbis players will not be able to level up before they get their class.

The Silver-Class is an upgrade grade of the Bronze-Class. A Swordman-like class could be upgraded to Swordmage if its requirements were met. Then, when it has reached the next level, then the class of a player can be increased again to Gold-Class. Of course after all the requirements are met.

There is one more class level, which is different from the three levels of this class. Special-Class, a special class where players can only get this class after going through certain special requirements. In Orbis Online, players who have a Special-Class are very few.

“Hm... What classes are suitable for me, huh? Because Int status is highest among other statuses, it seems that I am suitable to be a Mage or Enchanter, but.. I want to play using the sword.”.

Dissolved in that, Reus finally returned to silence for half an hour in the room while thinking about the class he would take. When other players who seemed to have just made a character like Reus had gone on an adventure, the bright blue-eyed white-haired male player actually returned to sit on the floor of the room.

After half an hour of good and bad consideration, Reus finally chose the class he would take later. For now, he is in a room full of new players like himself. Seeing this crowd, he preferred to get out of the room and stand near the highway.

The room he entered just now was a weapon shop as well as a shop of armor—or it could be said a shop of combat equipment. Indeed, he currently needed a weapon, but with the number of players inside the shop it made his steps turn around in an instant.

Reus sat by the side of the road and sighed. Lazily, he opened his storage with [Command Voice : Inventory] while placing his chin on his right palm. He looked at the screen panel that appeared before him and sighed.

‘It turns out this world is also cruel. Even new players are not given bonus items for the prefix? That's right..’.

Reus' expression this time was completely overwhelmed with disappointment. Although he was very happy to be given Solid Gear Ultimate Edition by Rezel Hansilva—, the founder of Deraft Corporation branch of Indonesia—, he still had to start the character in Orbis Online from scratch. It made him feel poor.

“Oi, you there.”

“Hm?”

Feeling himself being called by someone, Reus turned to his left. There, he found a player who had minimal skin armor with a red scarf hiding his mouth and nose. His hair was long blonde in the ponytail belt until it reached his waist, his eyes were dark red as if swallowing light. In view of his appearance, this player is female.

“You're a new player?”

“As you can see.”

“Means your Inventory is still empty?”

“Ya.”

“Why don't you buy the cheapest weapon in the combat supplies store there?”

“Too crowded. I don't like crowds.”

The female player who seemed to be taking Assassin class nodded once and held her chin covered in her red scarf.

“How about I tell you my subscription secret store?”

“Hah?”

Reus was quite surprised to hear the words from his interlocutor at this moment. I don't believe what this player is saying. Not only was there a possibility that he was lying and setting traps there, even if the place was really there it was impossible for him to tell such a place so easily.

“As much as you want to believe me or not, obviously walk down this road for about 400 meters. There is a small alley between two buildings. Step inside the alley and look for a small house that has a sign that says ‘Tok Ten’.”

After saying that to Reus while pointing in front of him, the female player turned her body and walked away from Reus. While Reus was still confused by the sudden explanation from him, the player disappeared leaving a trail of three purple light lines that two seconds later vanished.
