"{You got Curse of the Dead! You've been hit by Instant Death! HP has reached zero! You are dead!}"
Reus' eyes glared violently upon the notification panel. He never expected with all the status upgrades he had from the Black Predator, he was once again killed.
He could indeed accept if it was the death caused by Debuff Bleeding he suffered but he did not expect to be exposed to the deadliest Debuff in the history of the game world, Instant Death.
'So, this is what it's like to be defeated by someone with unexpected abilities?'
Reus smiled wryly as he muttered inwardly. Finally he understood the feelings of both the NPC and the player he had been killing all along due to the surprise attack from his strange and powerful skill combination.
In the end Reus closed his eyes feeling quite satisfied and prepared to die but there was one thing he had forgotten about his own skill, which was Reverse the Lance.
"{Reverse the Lance I has been activated! Instant Death has been changed to Instant Life!}"
The panel made Reus so great. He had not had time to comment or think, Reus felt something warm enveloped his body and immediately his HP and Energy parameters were full again.
All Debuff effects Reus received, including Everlasting Curse also disappeared and were replaced by several other Buffs.
---
Reverse the Lance
Everlasting Curse has been changed to Everlasting Blessing!
Stun has been changed to Swift!
Bleeding has been changed to Regeneration!
Shock has been converted into Dexterity!

Reus wanted to scream to see all the Debuff effects he had received turn into Buff but he was unwilling to waste the golden opportunity when the headless body had yet to realize what had happened.
He realized even though his arm had grown back Balmung was not the case. Reus then took out one of the swords that had fallen on the ground in place of his main sword.
Without wanting to waste any more time, Reus set up a fiddle and deployed Sprint to strike his opponent as fast as lightning.
"Black Sky Sword Art Series: First Form – Black Cloud! Plus, Wild Sword Style: Thorn Dance!"
The headless body never seemed to have expected Reus not only not to die but also to grow faster. He was unable to respond to Reus' attack which was now much faster than before and ended up having all his limbs separated from his body.
As a result, the body without a head or limbs fell helplessly on the ground.
"Huft, that one just now is dangerous...."
Reus let out a long sigh feeling his fight against the masked figure was now completely finished. He sheathed Blackstar after removing Black Form and retrieving Balmung.
Judging from Ability, Enchant, and Bonus Skill owned by Blackstar is indeed worthy of being called one of the legendary weapons but its Damage and Durability status is not the same. Blackstar's strength was quite standard as an ordinary sword while his Dur status was lower than most swords.
Reus actually still wanted to rely on Blackstar's Magic Devour and Black Form to deal with the enemy forces but saw his Dur status reduced unreasonably after colliding with the masked figure's scythe, Reus reluctantly kept the black sword back.
"Well, at least this is better than having to lose Blackstar."
Reus let out a heavy sigh before turning his gaze towards a piece of body that was still writhing unnoticed not far from him. He frowned watching the strange thing.
It could be seen that the distinctive red aura of Berserk status was still emanating from his body but Reus had cut off his limbs so that whatever was done, it was not, without some kind of regeneration skill or high level healer then there is nothing to worry about.
As Reus was still watching the body figure slowly lost its Berserk-typical aura and turned into blue pixel beads, making Reus glare fiercely in disbelief the masked figure was truly a player!
"But how.... Uh...."
The moment he learned of the masked figure was truly a Reus player thinking how his opponent could still put up a resistance even after he died, then he remembered he also had a similar skill that would only activate when he died.
Astral Protocol, a skill that made Reus have a 30% chance of survival after his HP reached zero with a status reduction fee of 50% for ten minutes.
Reus thought the masked figure had a skill that allowed him to move his body after death but if the skill was the same as the Astral Protocol, then the pay was not cheap either.
"Could it be that Berserk's status included his pay?"
He remembered that for NPCs Berserk status was a kind of double-edged skill. Those who were in Berserk status would experience an increase in status to a certain point but instead they would lose their minds and would only rampage indiscriminately.
"Maybe that was the reason why he only attacked with his scythe and did not use his skills like the Shadow Reaper or the Death Reaper earlier."
"The Course of the Dead...."
Reus still clearly remembers Debuff's name plastered on the notification panel just before Reverse the Lance counteracted the effect.
He guessed Curse of the Dead was not a Debuff effect but rather a skill that could trigger an instant death effect for the affected. It's just that as far as Reus knows the chance of a skill triggering Instant Death is very low in any game, not least Orbis Online.
But looking at the name of the skill at a glance, Curse of the Dead or 'Curse of the Dead' may be able to increase the chances by several percent depending on the number of people who have been killed by the target.
"And in my case, I've killed more than 10,000 people so the skill is very effective, huh?"
If only Curse of the Dead could increase the chances of Instant Death by as much as 0.01% just everyone who killed the target, so whatever Reus does if exposed to the skill can be sure he will immediately die without caring how high his status or level.
Reus laughed dryly realizing his luck was incredible. If only Reverse the Lance had only a 10% chance of being inactive then he had now woken up in the real world-again.
"Hey, Reus! You okay?"
When Reus was more relaxed he could hear the voices of Ikshan and Ibane from behind. They came from behind along with the other Reus clones that were still left.
"'I'm fine' he wanted to say so but, I would have almost died if it wasn't for the Goddess Fortuna to side with me."
Reus briefly explains the masked figure and how their fight went. Reus's explanation manages to make Ibane's eyes nearly detached so in disbelief, while Ikshan's wry smile has grown accustomed to Reus's absurd story.
"As usual, your fight is always followed by an absurd explanation."
"It makes sense?! You only said so after hearing that he had managed to finish off Royce the Black Reaper in the early 200s?! It's already beyond the game balance!"
Ibane scratched his head while screaming not accepting Reus' explanation. The silvery-white-haired player himself scratched his cheek feeling confused as to what to respond to Ibane's reaction, while Ikshan nodded his head feeling a deep understanding of Ibane's current feelings.
Reus shifted the subject and asked about the movements of Bailendra Kingdom's troops during his fight.
"They were indeed a little hesitant after seeing the huge explosion of your deeds but Bailendra Kingdom had already started to move. In about five or ten minutes the two camps will face each other head-on."
"Hmm, it might be a good idea to clear the front lines as much as possible before they start killing each other."
Ibane and Ikshan raised their eyebrows at Reus' reply who still intended to slaughter the Menschrein Kingdom stronghold even though it had finished off at least 10,000 NPCs and players at once.
Reus ignored the astonished expressions of the two comrades and looked at all his remaining clones.
"If it's not wrong, you've got a minute or two left, right? During that time you rampage on the front lines, then one of you goes to Julius' place to report."
The Reus clones nodded for a moment before carrying out their original body commands.
Reus pulls out another sword from Inventory intending to follow his clone to finish off the remaining enemy forces but is held captive by Ibane and Ikshan.
"You just rest. Let us take care of the rest."
"If you keep acting we can't show our abilities. Replace dong."
Reus actually wanted to reject the request but considering he himself had reduced the opposing army by 10,000 very many people for the number of people to finish alone, he relented and let Ikshan and Ibane contribute.
Ikshan nodded slowly before darting as fast as the wind forward to finish off one by one the Menschrein Kingdom soldiers using his new kusarigama, while Ibane pulled a sword from his waist and began to float a meter above the ground.
He then raised his sword high and created dozens of magic circles in the sky making Reus aghast watching all of that.
"Okay, you just watch from here! Witness the power of a Dragonic Swordcaster!"
After exclaiming so, Ibane unleashed dozens of magic from all his magic circles and joined Ikshan in the front line to finish off every enemy that confronted him, leaving Reus still stunned.
Reus obeyed the words of the two watching their battle from afar. He could see various huge explosions created from the Ibane battleground, while from the side of the troops Ikshan was heard dozens of desperate screams.
"If you think about the strength of this Party member without me though it could be said to be absurd, yes."
He let out a dry laugh seeing the huge army of one of the strongest empires in the Northern Plainfest, the Menschrein Kingdom was no match for either of them.
"Hmm? Wait a minute, the one I just fought was Royce? One of the top ranks of the Hundred Best Player, The Black Reaper Royce?"
