Dragnar is the capital of Bailendra Kingdom, one of the most powerful and powerful states in the Northern Plainfest. The giant wall that surrounds Dragnar is arguably proof that the kingdom dubbed the Dragon Country is indeed worthy of being called the strongest.
Thanks to that predicate no surrounding countries dared to look for trouble with Bailendra Kingdom, of course, except for one, which is the country that recently declared war on the Dragon Country, Menschrein Kingdom.
From the very beginning the inhabitants of Bailendra Kingdom were not very welcoming of the arrival of humans or any other race in their country given the large number of their brothers killed just for the sake of a drop or two of blood at the hands of another race, he said, plus the declaration of war from the Menschrein Kingdom makes humans more and more unacceptable in this country.
That was why when Reus, Ikshan, and Ibane went hand in hand every step they took was always noticed with a cold gaze.
It usually makes Ibane break out in cold sweat every time he walks in this city, but this time it's different. Not only was he not nervous but he felt strange.
The reason was the two people beside him.
"They don't exist."
"Yes, there's not a single one as long as my eyes look."
"What are you talking about?"
Ibane raised next to his brows not understanding why Reus and Ikshan suddenly bounced after watching the surrounding citizens for a while.
"Ah, no, just mumbling to myself."
"Right, there's nothing to worry about."
"No, you are clearly looking for something among the citizens of Dragnar. What's on your mind?"
Reus and Ikshan smiled wryly while scratching their cheeks before saying the thing they were thinking, it then made Ibane almost catch both of them.
"You people and you are in the center of a country that is hostile to the human kingdom, and you still have time to think about whether or not the Surveillance Force is in this place?!"
"But, you're curious, right? As a Japanese you must be familiar with these walls."
"I've lived in this place longer than you and I think more about my life than that! Besides, I've never seen any of the Surveillance Force we're referring to here!"
Ibane let out a long sigh not understanding the priorities of the two people beside him. They both did not look tense or disturbed by the cold view of the people around, much different from him.
Not only that, both Reus and Ikshan even looked completely calm like they were used to hundreds of cold views from the surrounding residents and they could still smile and even laugh amid this kind of pressure.
Although Ibane balked at what Reus and Ikshan thought, he was curious and found out about it when he first came to Dragnar.
"Well, put that aside, it turns out that the attitude of the Dragnar people is worse than I thought."
Reus swept his gaze to pay attention to the attitude and eyes full of hatred as well as anger from the residents who were directed at his group, he did not understand why the views of the inhabitants of Dragnar were sharper and more piercing than in other cities.
"See that. It could be that the guards let the wretched humans like them enter the city."
"Even if they wear a white cloth as a harmless sign, man is still man. They're more savage than monsters."
"What about that one? He wasn't wearing a white cloth like the other two."
"I heard that there was a human Draconian living in this town for some time now, maybe he was the one."
"You are Draconian or not, if you are human, you are human. He's the same as those filthy creatures."
If in the Menschrein Kingdom humans were a first-class race and a race other than humans was considered a second-class race that treated no higher than slaves or goods, then in this city it was the opposite. Humans are considered a second-class race by their citizens.
"I'm not surprised by how they view myself and Ikshan as a human, but I wonder why they hate you so much, Ibane."
Ibane smiled wryly in response to Reus' words before starting to explain.
Unlike the Dragonewt or Lizardmen who are pure descendants of dragons with fellow reptile races, Draconians are the result of crossbreeding between dragons and non-reptile races so it can be said Draconians are a nation of mixed dragons.
Hundreds of years ago dragons still inhabit several places and had to breed with races other than reptiles which resulted in their blood continues to be carried to the present generation in the body of other races.
In the case of Ibane, he's a Draconian with a human form.
"Wait, doesn't that mean you're an NPC?"
"Why can you come to such a conclusion?"
Ibane did not go into too much detail but in the beginning she made a character she chose a human, but after exploring the world of Orbis Online for quite a long time he experienced unexpected events that resulted in him turning into a human-shaped Draconian.
"Look at my eyes, don't my pupils look like dragon or reptile pupils?"
Ibane opened his eyes wider, revealing sharp pupils similar to snakes or other reptilian eyes to Reus and Ikshan.
"If you take a closer look your words are not at all wrong. Your dragon's pupils aren't very visible from far away."
"If you're just looking at it at a glance, you do look like an ordinary human being. No wonder the people of Dragnar don't consider you a countryman despite both having dragon blood."
Ifane nodded softly assuring the opinion of the two, he had no intention of complaining any further and comprehending his own condition. Although Ibane had the same dragon blood as the Dragnar people, thanks to his appearance he was not considered so.
Ibane also added that there are several other Draconians in the city but they are more fortunate because they are not human in nature so they are not complicated by the surrounding residents, ifane must accept all the ill-treatment of the Dragnar population.
Reus nodded his head while rubbing his chin for a moment before sighing heavily.
"The value of a coin cannot be determined by just one side."
"Hmm? Meanin?"
"I mean, racism doesn't always happen on one side alone, but on the other side it may also experience the same thing."
Ikshan did not say much but he agreed Reus' opinion because in his own country racism although strictly prohibited in fact still exists, even Reus also admitted in Indonesia itself is no exception.
Ibane who saw the opinions of the two smiled slightly touched by the views of the two people, who were both, though he had not been with Reus and Ikshan for long but these two people had already shown their side of sympathy to outsiders like him.
Ibane patted Reus and Ikshan on the back after the brief conversation.
"You don't have to think about me that deep. Look so seriously at this conversation you don't realize that we've reached where you're looking."
Ibane pointed to a building in front of them after saying so, making Reus and Ikshan realize the three of them were in front of a small house that did not look like a shop at all, but there is one thing that is very striking from the building.
The building is made of jet black wood entirely, from the foundation pole to the top of the roof almost no other color accompanies the black color.
At first glance this building looks like a haunted old building that has been abandoned by its owner in good condition, but a board that reads 'open' plastered in front of the entrance signifies a jet black wooden building is indeed a shop.
