59. Updates and Maintenance

Along with the end of the elite monster group that had just appeared, the mob monster army that was fighting against the Raid army of players lost its fighting spirit and tried to escape. It was a pity that the players did not feel sorry for them and wiped out all the remaining mob monsters.

Big win is obtained by the Raid player. In addition to their level and experience increasing, some of them gained new skills and Equip that came from the monster item drop. They also got a lot of Byl from this war, but quite a lot died as well as the payment.

For Reus himself this war was very profitable. His Swing Level managed to increase to 1-2 as the war progressed so that his damage would become even greater for his next use. In addition to Swing, Blackstar also experienced a level increase of up to four levels at once.

Of course this is very encouraging Reus who is a little upset because of Ramsey. Initially he intended to help Ramsey and give the last attack on the fifth Field Boss that he had fought one of them so that his level increased dramatically, but the plan was in vain because Ramsey killed them all in one attack.

Well, at least he got some of the Field Boss's drop items from Ramsey. As the compensation got no experience, Reus asked for half the item drop from the result of killing all five Field Bosses. Of course Ramsey could not resist thinking Reus was useless at that time when he wanted to help.

After the war ended, Dalon and most of the players go to the village of Viredeta to check the local circumstances while freeing the residents who experienced terrible treatment from the previous mob monsters known from the video footage sent by Reus preceding.

While most players enter the villages of Viredeta, Reus, Kynel, and Ramsey gather in one place discussing the results and experiences of the war they have gained.

   "Reus, what exactly is your strength? You're a Swordsman, but you can also cast magic, that's abnormal."

   "I'm curious about it too."

Given the actions of Reus who deployed several magic at once, Ramsey could not help his curiosity any more. Kynel felt the same way. The two of them tried to corner him, yet they thought who was Reus?

Spontaneously one word was thrown from all three at the same time.

   "Oh, it's time to update, huh? I forgot."

   "You know this, Ramsey?"

"Of course, have you not seen his announcement at the Orbis Forum?"

Ramsey breathed heavily as soon as he got an upsetting reply from Reus. For some reason, this time he felt really annoyed towards this one silver-haired player. He wanted to beat her.

But Ramsey didn't do it. He swallowed all his emotions and explained all about the updates he knew to Reus and Kynel who seemed confused.

Like regular MMORPG games, Orbis Online also needs to get maintenance and updates as maintenance and updates on a regular basis. Orbis Online is scheduled to face maintenance once a month and usually in the middle of the month.

Reus and Ramsey could only shout inwardly to get a short, terrible answer from a girl who was going through the moon. But, they immediately turned their attention away from Kynel because they thought her smile was too horrible.

   "By the way Ramsey, how long does this maintenance and update take?"

   "If not one maintenance duration of about half an hour, while the update usually takes three to five hours."

What Kynel means here is an online VR game that is not an RPG, but still MMO-based. The virtual world at the present time does consist of hundreds of worlds, Orbis Online is just one of them.

   "No. Why the hell?"

   "Then can you play Society Online?"

   'Society Online? What're those?'

Society Online, one of the virtual world created from thousands of— or even millions— programs. This game is not a genre RPG or shooter or something like that, only limited to simulations that apply real life as the main goal of the player.

The players who play this game can create their own avatars according to taste and live everyday life like the real world. The difference in the world is that no one can govern you except the rules set by the system.

No parents, no friends, no family, and so on. There is no limit for a player to live life there— except money and effort of course.

Although actually how to play and the system is really simple, Society Online is one of the popular games that are in great demand by people of all ages. Not only because they feel they get a second life, the players can also establish relationships with other players.

   "b-maybe. I'll play later."

   "Then meet me in the town square! My name is Diana over there!"

   "All right then."

For some reason Reus could not understand Kynel whose eyes were so sparkling. But fearing that Kynel would show her horrible smile again, Reus simply agreed to Kynel's invitation.

Right after that Kynel immediately logged out without saying goodbye enthusiastically. Reus and Ramsey who saw that just fell silent without being able to guess what Kynel was thinking.

That guy's not really sensitive to women's feelings, is he?
